The Grandmasturbator with the Furious Five – A Bad Idea

In a way, this was probably my most accurately named mix ever. This mix was a bad idea (yet it’s so good!). At some point in my DJing career I began to dabble in mixing hiphop with pop, and electronica. I would do some shitty scratching at points and even pull off some on-the-fly mashups. I have done some great mixes of this style, but this one is unique. The time period, the track selection, the flow of tracks. It is all so properly formed around a sound that could be called “Generic High School Dance Music.” This mix is kind of a trip. I can see it entertaining certain people at certain times, might be a good thing to play while needing background noise at a BBQ or something. Actually, it’ll be great for SPRING BREAK 2005! and other nights of Jello Shots and keg stands.

So, anyway, enjoy a blast from that past and relive an uncomfortable high school dance experience with this disk. And, if you can, I’d suggest ignoring the trasklisting. Let the surprises happen and enjoy the trip you are about to go on. Enjoy your 40oz and leave a comment below telling me what you thought of this Bad Idea.
