“The Great Goa Bake Off presents TASKMASTER: A VALENTINE’S DAY COVID CROSSOVER SNOW SPECTACULAR” was born out of a desire to make a new mix, a new video, and introduce the world to the new light of my life.
At this point, I had already made two baking video stream videos: Catharsisn’t and The Great Goa Bake Off. One was a pie and the other a tart. Now, time for a cake. In addition, we had a snow storm, a power outage, and I was in love. I wanted to try something new for an audience of one, while also showcasing to an audience of many.
While the first two baking videos were massive lessons in how this works, I believe this is my finest of cooking videos. I also truly love a later one (Sequinox), but that one had a more simplified arc and method. I think this one taught me, and is an example of, much of what I know and can do.
The music is a collection of how COVID felt. From the onset of paranoia and lack of knowing of where we were headed, into the acknowledgement of hope and trust in the Goa and love, to the acceptance that opening one’s heart can something be the greatest grounding agent of them all; even if you still don’t know how to bake a cake well.
Hopefully y’all find something to enjoy in this video. It’s one of my favorites.
